6-1. Description:
The Strip Drive 100 motor, when mounted to the appropriate cladding head, is used for cladding and ESW cladding applications. When the Strip Drive
100 motor is connected to a SubArc Digital Interface, the sub arc welding system is automatically configured for constant voltage (CV) output. When
configured as such, two other interface features are enabled. These features are a strip drive roll selection, and a coolant flow sensor relay on the
Digital Interface terminal strip.

When a Strip Drive 100 motor is at-
tached to a SubArc Digital Inter-
face, an additional screen is made
available in the Digital Interface
Auxiliary Menu to allow the operator
to adjust the strip drive roll diameter
setting in the interface to match the
diameter of the strip drive roll in the
cladding head.

Setup Push Button
To access the Auxiliary Menu,
press the Digital Interface Se-
quence and Setup buttons simulta-
neously. The Setup and Sequence
button LEDs flash when in this
menu. Press the Setup button to
scroll forward until you reach the
screen shown.

Adjust Control
When in this screen, turn the adjust
control knob to select the proper
strip roll diameter. The range of ad-
justment is 1.100 in (27.9 mm) to
2.500 in. (63.5 mm). The default
value is 1.969 in. (50 mm).
2
The minimum strip speed, regard-
less of the strip roll diameter is 10
IPM (0.3 MPM). The maximum
strip speed is a function of the strip
roll diameter programmed into the
interface. At the default roll diame-
ter, 1.969 (50 mm), the maximum
speed is 125 IPM (3.2 MPM). If the
strip drive roll diameter is in-
creased, the maximum strip speed
remains unchanged. If the strip roll
diameter is decreased, the maxi-
mum strip speed decreases linearly
as a function of the strip roll diame-
ter. At the minimum strip roll diame-
ters, 1.100 in (27.9 mm), the maxi-
mum strip speed is 69 IPM (1.8
MPM).
