TROUBLESHOOTING (Table 8-1)
WARNING: ELECTRIC SHOCK can kill.
Do not touch live electrical parts.
Shut down Carriage control and welding
power source, and disconnect input power
employing lockout/tagging procedures be-
fore inspecting, maintaining, or servicing.
TROUBLE
No meter display with
POWER switch S1 on.
Carriage does not move when

Lockout/tagging procedures consist of remov-
ing input plug from receptacle, padlocking line
disconnect switch in open position, removing
fuses from fuse box, or shutting off and red-tag-
ging circuit breaker or other disconnecting de-
vice.
MOVING PARTS can cause serious injury.
Keep clear of pinch points.
HOT SURFACES can cause severe burns.
Allow cooling period before servicing.
It is assumed that the unit was properly installed accord-
ing to Section 3 of this manual, the operator is familiar
with the function of controls, the unit was working prop-
erly, and that the trouble is not related to the welding
process. The following table is designed to diagnose
and provide remedies for some of the troubles that may
develop in this unit.
Use this table in conjunction with the circuit diagram
while performing troubleshooting procedures. If the
trouble is not remedied after performing these proce-
dures, the nearest Factory Authorized Service Station
should be contacted. In all cases of equipment malfunc-
tion, the manufacturer's recommendations should be
strictly followed.
REMEDY
Secure plug in receptacle.
Manually reset CB1 (see Section 8-2).
Check and replace F1, if necessary (see Sec-
tion 8-2).
Check and secure plug at meter base.
Replace S1.
Replace meter.
Contact nearest Factory Authorized Service
Station.
Check and secure connections between car-
riage motor and Carriage Control (see Section
3-8).
Engage drive assembly.
Replace S2.
Contact nearest Factory Authorized Service
Station.
Contact nearest Factory Authorized Service
Station.
Check and replace drive motor, if necessary.
