How to use AXIS T8705 Network Video Decoder with your AXIS Companion

Pre-requisite

Install the AXIS Companion system before you follow this integration guide to AXIS T8705 Decoder and AXIS Companion.

See the online manual if you need information on how to install an AXIS Companion system.

Note

The following cameras are not supported:

- AXIS Companion Bullet mini LE

- AXIS Companion Eye mini L

Install the decoder

1. Install the decoder according to its Installation Guide.

Log on to the decoder

1. Download IP Utility from www.axis.com/support

2. Run IP Utility.

3. Double-click the decoder in the list to open its webpages.

4. Log on to the decoder using the default username "root" and password "pass".

5. Type a new password for the decoder.

6. Click Next.

Add cameras

1. In the decoders webpage, go to the top menu and select Video sources.

2. Click Camera wizard. The wizard searches the network for Axis cameras.

3. In the Add credentials dialog:

Enter your AXIS Companion site name.

Enter user name ACCAdmin.

Enter your AXIS Companion site password.

Click Add.

4. Close the Credentials window.

5. Select the cameras you want to see on your monitor, by selecting the radio buttons to the right.

6. Click Connect.
