SENTRON PAC4200
Battery replacement
SENTRON PAC4200 battery
must be periodically replaced.
For replacing, it is necessary to use an
angled pointed pliers with insulated jaws.
Note: SENTRON PAC4200 has no function
to determine charging status of battery.
Battery replacement steps:
1. Making sure that the replacement
battery has full charging capacity. It
must be available on site when battery
replacement service starts.
2. Saving device data.
• Opening dialog box "CHANGE
BATTERY":
SETTINGS > ADVANCED > CHANGE
BATTERY
• Selecting "START BATTERY CHANGE",
key <F4> (ENTER).
The operation launches data back-up.
SENTRON PAC4200 copies data from
volatile memory supplied by buffer
battery into internal non-volatile
memory.
The load profile configuration and the
load profile data are saved together with
all counter values, e.g. for energy,
day energy, operating hours, process
counters, universal counters, user
defined counters, interrupt counters,
event counters and configuration
counters. The device indicates complete
backup.
The following data could be lost, for
instance, when the battery is replaced:
event memory, min. / max. values for
all measured variables, date and time,
sliding window demand values. This data
can be backed up previously with
software.
3. Disconnecting the device from power
supply.
4. Replacing battery. The battery
compartment is accessible externally
without opening the housing. The
opening of the battery compartment
has the same shape as the battery
determining the alignment of the
terminals. It is not possible to insert the
battery incorrectly.
5. Ensuring old battery disposal in
accordance with standards.
6. Re-commissioning system. Restoring
supply voltage to device. The backup
data is available automatically.
7. Resetting time.
8. Testing SENTRON PAC4200
functionality.
Service life
5 years under the following conditions:
2 months backup time per year at 23 °C,
10 months continuous operation per year
at the maximum permissible ambient
temperature. (The battery must be
designed for at least 70 °C).
Battery types:
BR2032, CR2032 (not rechargeable),
approved in accordance with UL1642
Nominal voltage: 3 V
Nominal discharge current: 0,2 mA
Minimum permissible reverse current
to the battery: 5 mA
