4.3 Installation in a company parking deck or parking lot
• Figure 4-12: In parking lots without mobile wireless connection, a commercial parent
device can be connect to the LAN of the building via a copper Ethernet connection. The
parent device supports up to nine commercial child devices via Wi-Fi; these are located at
a distance of up to 150 ft (45 meters) (line of sight) from the parent device. If there are
obstructions, such as trees, posts, or similar, you should check the strength of the Wi-Fi
signal to ensure that a good signal strength exists between the parent device and the
child devices. The standard Ethernet network rules apply to an Ethernet connection to a
building hub/switch. The standard copper Ethernet network covers a distance of up to 328
ft (100 meters) (see Feasibility (Page 27)).
