COMPATIBILITY

Siemens Industry, Inc.
Building Technologies Division
The XDLC circuit can be wired Class B (DCLB), Class A (DCLA), or Class X (DCLC). The
configuration tool allows selection of Class A, X or B. The XDLC field circuit wiring does
not require twisted, shielded wire, but is recommended. It can be installed in conduit
containing low voltage power, notification appliance circuits, audible and speaker zone
circuits, and RS-485 and other data circuits without restrictions.
Electrical connections for the zones are shown in Figure 4. The wiring style is set in
the Zeus Programming Tool without using external jumpers.
If the return wires in a zone are reversed (in a Class A [DCLA] configuration), the line
numbers and short LEDs associated with the affected zone will be illuminated.
Switch the two return wires to remove this trouble. Eliminate all other troubles
before completing the installation.
NOTE:
1.
Devices wired as Class X (DCLC) must have Isolator Mode checked off.
2.
For Class A (DCLA) and Class B (DCLB), the option for Isolation Mode is
available for the X-devices as long as the wiring matches the configuration.
3.
During system initialization, the XDLC will test the wiring for each device
and produce "XDLC Device Wiring Mismatch" trouble if there is a mismatch
between the Isolation Mode in the configuration and the device wiring.
1.
The XDLC supports compatible devices with the model numbers listed in
Table 1 for UL 864 and in Table 2 for UL2572. Use any combination of those
listed in Table 1 or Table 2, as applicable.
2.
The XDLC supports a maximum of 252 Desigo Fire Safety Modular/
Cerberus PRO Modular intelligent field devices distributed across four Class
A (DCLA) loops or eight Class B (DCLB) loops. A mix of Class A (DCLA) and
Class B (DCLB) is supported. The XDLC supports a maximum of 190 Desigo
Fire Safety Modular/Cerberus PRO Modular intelligent field devices wired in
isolation mode distributed across four Class X (DCLC) loops. A mix of Class
A (DCLA) and Class X (DCLC) wiring is supported where the maximum total
number of devices across four loops is 252 with a limit of 190 of those
Desigo Fire Safety Modular/Cerberus PRO Modular intelligent field devices
wired in isolation mode.
3.
All circuits are power limited to NFPA 70 per NEC 760. The XDLC supports
the use of 12-22 AWG non-shielded, twisted, thermoplastic fixture wire
without conduit, if permitted by local building codes.
4.
No end of line device is required.
5.
Total circuit resistance of each zone must not exceed 50 ohms. (Refer to
the chart on page 7 .)
Maximum capacitance:
6.
T-tapping is not allowed on Class A (DCLA) or Class X (DCLC) loops.
7 .
All models are UL and ULC listed.
8.
The Multi-Criteria detectors are programmed using the DPU. A PAD-5,
Document ID A6V101030358, or a SBGA-34 base, connected to a ZIC-4A, P/
N 500-033050, or ZIC-8B, P/N 500-648670, can be used to create Temporal
4 tones in conjunction with the Carbon Monoxide enabled detectors
FDOOTC441 or OOHC941. Using these detectors with the ABHW-4S or
ABHW-4B, the selection of tones are chosen using the panel's configuration
tool.
