4Cisco 7000 Air Filter and Chassis Blower Replacement Instructions

Caution:

Operate the system only if the blower is installed and functioning properly.

The blower prevents an overtemperature condition that can result in severe equipment

damage.

The air ﬁlter ﬁts into the lower frame of the top front chassis panel (see Figure 3).

Maintaining a consistent air ﬁlter cleaning schedule helps to maintain normal system

operation. A dirty ﬁlter can prohibit the ﬂow of cooling air into the chassis and may

cause an overtemperature condition.

You need only remove the bottom front chassis panel to access the ﬁlter. Although you

should not operate the system for more than a minute without the ﬁlter in place, you

can brieﬂy remove the ﬁlter to vacuum it and immediately replace it. Vacuuming the

ﬁlter while it is still in the panel is likely to dislodge dust particles into the chassis interior.

You can also remove the ﬁlter and wash it in warm water, and replace it when it is

completely dry. While the ﬁlter is drying, install a spare ﬁlter or shut down the system.
