INDEPENDENTLY
Seiting
the PRE|POWER
AMP swilch to
SEPARATED allows the preamp and power amp
sections to be employed independently. For ex
ample, using only the preamp section of the SA~
9900, another external power amplifier cen be
employed. By switching between the external and
SA-9900 self-contained power amplifiers, compari-
ton listening ean be performed,
Multi-amplifier System Composition
With the PRE/POWER
AMP switch set to
SEPARATED, a separately sold electronic cross
over network and one or more power amplifiers
can be combined to form a multiamp system,
The audio frequency band is then divided into
segments, with each range amplified by its own
power amplifier. Improvements can be noted in
such factors as intermodulation distortion, ete,

Employing Auxiliary Power Amplifier
By setting the PRE/POWER AMP switch to
NORMAL, a separately sold power amplifier can
be connevied as shown in the figure. This acrange-
ment is suitable in situations such a8 a large audi-
torium where the SA-9900 builtin power amplifier
alone would be insufficient.
