redistribution and Panacea Convertible Mattress with alternating pressure pump
providing alternating pressure are designed to assist in the prevention and treatment of
pressure ulcers for Long Term Care residents. The support surface fits most standard
healthcare beds and consists of 9 or 12 air cells that run laterally underneath the entire
body and are contained in a foam cavity. The heel section of the mattress is tapered
to further reduce pressure on the heel area. The air and foam flotation system aids in
pressure redistribution by maintaining low interface pressures throughout the surface.
The Panacea Convertible Mattress has the option of a quiet, energy-efficient pump,
which provides alternating pressure therapy in a 10-minute cycle. The inflation levels are
designed to maintain low interface pressures throughout the mattress, to redistribute
peak interface pressures during the cycle, and further relieve peak pressure points as
the cycle alternates.
