There are a couple of reasons why a recording might be shorter than you expected:
Ø If the video signal from your satellite dish is lost during a program, the recorder will cut out
the blank spots of the recording. For example, if the signal was lost for 5 minutes, a 30
minute program will show as a 25 minute recording on the Program Information screen.
Ø If a member of your household changes channels during a recording, the recording will
stop at the time of the channel change.
Note: Networks sometimes do not air programs on schedule.
Can I jump back and forth between two channels?
You can switch back and forth between the current and last channel by pressing the ENTER key
on your DIRECTV ® Digital Satellite Recorder remote control.
Additionally, if you have dual-tuners active, you can switch between the two tuners by pressing the
DOWN key on your remote. This will allow you to watch two shows while maintaining a 30 minute
buffer on each of them.
