Improving Receiver Control
Adjusting the Remote Antenna
Be sure to set the remote control antenna on the back of the receiver straight up to
improve its operation. The remote control antenna should be angled away so the tip is
separated from the electronics by a couple of inches, if possible.
–
Place the receiver higher than all of the other equipment in your entertainment
center.
–
Provide room above the receiver so that the antenna can be installed straight up.
–
Move the remote control antenna away from the back of the entertainment center
wiring and other electronics using a short piece of coaxial cable (3 to 5 feet).
–
Try moving the receiver to another location in the entertainment center.
–
Connect an F-connector attenuator (between 6dB and 15dB) between the
R
formance in certain circumstances. This solution works best when the remote
control is being used within 75 feet of the receiver.
Changing the UHF Frequency Using the A/B Switch
Your remote has a switch to change the UHF frequency that your remote control uses. It
comes preset to the A position but you can change the setting to the B position to lessen
the likelihood of any other UHF remote interfering with yours.
1
Remove the battery cover from the remote control.
2
Use a small screw driver or a paper clip to carefully change the setting.
3
Put the battery cover back on the remote control.
4
Press the SYS INFO button on the front panel to open the System Informa-
tion screen.
5
Press RECORD on the remote control.
6
Make sure the Remote Address field on the System Information screen
shows the band that matches how you set the switch:
•
Switch position A: IR/UHF Pro Band A
•
Switch Position B: IR/UHF Pro Band B
