6. Recheck the 43 ¼" on-center rafter-to-rafter spacing
along all the purlins.
7. After you have installed the first two rafters, slide a
band clamp onto each of the two bottom purlins
(before you attach the third rafter).
8. Attach struts between the band clamps on the
purlins and the band clamps on the end rafter.
Position the struts so that they form a triangle at
roughly a 45° angle when installed as shown in
Figure 8.
NOTE: Make sure the end rafter is plumb before you
tighten the nuts.

9. Continue adding rafters (at 43 ¼" on-center spacing)
and purlins until all inside rafters are in place.
NOTE: Use a 73.5" pipe to complete each purlin.
10. Add the second end rafter and secure as previously
described.
11. Attach struts between the end rafter just installed
and bottom purlins as you did at the other end of
the frame.

Assembly Procedure
1. Square the frame by measuring diagonally
corner-to-corner, and align all rafters as shown
in Figure 9.

2. Secure every purlin pipe joint with a Tek screw.
3. Verify that the width of each rafter is 10'
center-to-center.
FINISH ROUGH EDGES
Gather the Parts

Duct tape
•
Metal file
1. Check for any sharp edges on the frame and file
them smooth so they will not cut the cover.
2. Apply two layers of heavy duct tape on all pipe
connections and clamps that may contact the cover.
