4.1 The detector is an automatic optical electronic device providing electronic and visual
alarm when smoke appears in the space between Rx and Tx.
4.2 Each unit, transmitter and receiver, is a construction consisting of the metal housing
and a mounting bracket. Each unit is located in waterproof plastic housing (Annex 1). To see how
the detector is designed please refer to Figure 1 and Figure 2 of Annex 2. Indicators and optical
system window are located on front panels of Rx and Tx. The RANGE and CALIBRATION
switches are located on the rear panel of Rx. The slot for access to the sensitivity adjustment
screw is located on the side surface of Rx.
4.3 Screw blocks for connection to alarm loop are located inside the waterproof housing
next to Rx and Tx, which leads "1" are marked with a colored spot.
4.4 The wiring diagram for the detector's units operations checking without alignment is
shown on Figure 1 Annex 3. The wiring diagram for the detector to 2-wire DC FACP is shown
on Figure 2 Annex 3. The wiring diagram for the detector to 4-wire intruder fire alarm control
panel with the help of MUSH-DL module is shown on Figure 3 Annex 3. The wiring diagram for
the detector to 4-wire AC fire alarm control panel with the help of MUSH-DL module is shown
on Figure 4 Annex 3.
5 HOW TO PREPARE THE DETECTOR FOR OPERATING
5.1 After receiving your detector it should be unpack and the kit's content should be
checked. Allow the detector to stay packed in the room for at least 4 hours if the detector was
exposed to negative temperatures before opening. Inspect the exterior. Make sure that seals are
intact and not visibly damaged (cracks, dents). If the detector was damaged while shipped or not
operates properly, report the manufacturer within 5 days.
5.2 Checking the receiver for proper operation
5.2.1 Set The CALIBRATION and RANGE switches on Rx to «1» position.
5.2.2 Connect Rx to a 20-30 V DC power source as shown on Figure 1a Annex 3. When
the transmitter is off, both LEDs on Tx shall flash during 10 s at different intervals between
flashes (0.5 sec and 2 sec).
5.2.3 Set the RANGE switch to «0» position. The state of LEDs shall not change.
5.2.4 Set both switches to «0» position. The left LED of the transmitter shall be lit in 10
sec.
5.2.5 Disconnect the transmitter from the power supply source.
5.3 Checking the transmitter for proper operation
5.3.1 Connect the transmitter to a 20-30 V D.C. power source as drawn on Figure 1b
Annex 23 through the 51 Ohm series resistor in plus wire. Both LEDs shall synchronically flash
10 times once every 1 sec.
5.3.2 Disconnect the transmitter from the power supply.
