3.0 MODEL
These instructions apply to the following model: 32A 19" Rackmount Mains Distribution Panel C660 (42-689)
4.0 CONNECTIONS
The input connector is 32Amp to BS4343, CEE17. It should be connected to an earthed, single-phase supply of
nominally 220-240Vac. A protective device should be fitted at the supply source to ensure that the panel and
the supply cables are adequately protected against over-current. When routing the supply cord care should be
taken to minimise the possibility of mechanical damage; sources of heat should be avoided.
The supply cord should not be 'coiled'.
Each back panel outlet should not be overloaded; output current should be restricted to their rated maximum,
e.g. BS1363 outlet to 13Amp & BS4343 to 16Amp. The total panel load should not exceed the input connector
rating of 32Amps. If an MCB 'trips' the fault should be corrected before resetting. Check it is safe to reset the
MCB before doing so.
When using the back panel earth-bonding stud, do not excessively tighten the clamping screw.
If an eye termination is to be used, the bolt size is M4. Earth bonding should be checked at appropriate
intervals. These should be determined taking into account installation circumstances, projected usage and
environmental conditions.
5.0 MAINTENANCE
The supply must be isolated before any maintenance is attempted. The front cover must not be removed
with the supply connected. The green power neon indicates 'power available'. It should NOT be used to
indicate supply isolation. Even when the green neon is not illuminated hazardous voltages may still be pre-
sent. Any equipment connected to this unit that requires isolation, should be disconnected by removing the
appropriate plug.
