Image blur can be caused
by camera shake or moving
subjects
BYE BYE TO BLUR
To combat the blurriness that camera shake can cause,
most Canon digital compact cameras feature Canon's
acclaimed optical Image Stabilizer. This uses sophisticated
vibration sensors to automatically detect – and compensate
for – camera movement. In many models, the system
offers a 4-stop advantage (twice as effective as many other systems),
for continued blur resistance even in lower light conditions.
Canon's Dynamic optical Image Stabilizer counteracts user movement
when shooting video. By assessing and compensating for low
frequency vibrations, such as when walking, it helps produce video
with a much steadier picture. Blur is further guarded against by
a host of other features, such as Motion Detection Technology and
Servo AF/AE. Motion Detection Technology uses a combination of
technologies – including Face Detection and optical Image Stabilizer –
to identify subject motion and camera shake. ISO is then optimised
for minimum blur and maximum image quality.
SERVO AF/AE
Even if your subject is moving towards or away from
the camera, Servo AF/AE lets you keep it well-exposed and in focus.
Simply press the shutter button down halfway, and focus and
exposure are continuously adjusted until the moment you take
the shot. Used with Face Detection, great portraits can be taken in
more active situations – from the playground to the dance floor.
Canon technologies work to
freeze the action – for sharper
results
Fun doesn't stop when the sun goes down – and with
full resolution shooting up to ISO 3200*, you don't have
to stop either
PERFECT PORTRAITS
Face Detection Technology detects up to 35 faces in
your frame and optimises settings – such as focus,
exposure, flash and white balance – for great portrait shots.
Incredibly accurate, Face Detection can detect small faces
and is effective even when subjects are not looking directly
towards the camera. Red-Eye Correction automatically eliminates
the unwanted effects of flash photography, and Blink Detection
warns the user if a subject had their eyes closed in a photo, so you
can reshoot.
BEAT THE DARK
Thanks to the power of DIGIC processing, Canon digital
compact cameras continue to perform exceptionally at
high ISO speeds – giving you the power to capture richly
detailed scenes in low light. This is especially useful in situations
where flash is not permitted, or undesirable. For the ultimate in
noise reduction and detail at high ISO, PowerShot G11 and S90
include Dual Anti-Noise System – giving full resolution ISO 3200
and ISO 12800 in Low Light mode at 2.5 Megapixels.
