Maintenance & Tips
Cleaning Your Instrument
It is very important to keep your hearing instruments as clean as
possible. Wax build up is the number one cause of instrument failure. To
avoid potential costly repairs, please clean your instruments daily. Wipe
your instruments clean with a soft dry cloth, carefully, removing any
traces of wax and debris. Please use only cleaning products that are
recommended by your hearing aid specialist. Your instrument may be
equipped with special wax protection devices. Please ask your hearing
healthcare professional to demonstrate how to clean these special
features.
Please take care that products like aftershave, lotions and ointments do
not come into contact with your hearing aid.
Be certain to remove your hearing aid before washing your hair, taking a
bath, showering or entering a steam-bath or sauna.
Remove your hearing aid before electromagnetic or MRI (Magnetic
Resonance Imaging) therapies.
Do not try to repair your hearing aid yourself!
Consult a physician if you find a foreign object in your ear canal, if you
experience skin irritation or if excessive wax accumulates with the use of
the hearing aid.
To achieve maximum benefit from your hearing aid, you must wear it
regularly.
Keep a positive attitude.
Start with a comfortable volume in a quiet environment.
Learn to recognise familiar sounds around your home before
wearing your hearing aid in more difficult listening situations.
To reach the most natural and optimal listening performance, the
use of two hearing aids is recommended. Guidance from your
hearing aid professional is essential.
