Section Two: Operation

ALERT! Only qualified technicians may install and maintain this product. Verify all connections meet

requirements specified in local electric codes or operating company guidelines before supplying

power. Protect this equipment with a breaker sufficient to interrupt power levels specified.

NOTE: For detailed installation instructions for the panel itself, including detailed electrical

connections and mechanical mounting details, see the individual panel installation instructions.

1. The CTRL panels utilize the LAN port located on the right front of the unit to connect the CTRL controller to

the site Ethernet network, or to a local laptop for configuration. Note that the Management Port (MGMT) is

not currently operational and will be enabled in a future firmware release. See Figure 1.

2. The integrated nrgSMART Controller is set to DHCP client by default. Connect an ethernet cable from the

network to the LAN port on front right of controller and monitor the LCD screen for the IP address it has

been assigned. If there is no DHCP server (or you are connecting directly to a laptop) the controller will

default to a local link address of 169.254.xxx.xxx. You will need to change the IP address of your laptop to

be on the same subnet. To do this, follow the steps below (instructions are for Windows 10).

a. Go into Network Settings from either the CTRL Panel or the Network icon in the bottom right

corner of the task bar on your PC. Note: There will be different paths to get to these settings

based on your operating system.

b. For Windows 10: right click and select open network and internet settings from the network

icon in lower right corner of task bar.

c. Select Ethernet from left-side menu

d. Select change adapter options from the right-side menu

e. Select the Ethernet icon that needs to be changed

Select Properties

g. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)
