Bose Computer MusicMonitor サービスマニュアル
The Bose
®
Computer MusicMonitor™ is covered by a 1-year transferrable, limited warranty.

Product Description

®
The Bose
Computer MusicMonitor™ is a two-piece speaker system about 1/3 the total size of a Compan-
ion 2 PC speaker. The Speaker System provides surprisingly deep bass and spaciousness for its size. It is
also an impressively elegant product – not targeting the entry-level pricing of the Companion 2, but rather
targeting a customer looking for an additional "wow" factor. Further differentiating itself, it uses Bose propri-
etary slotted internal opposing passive radiator technology. The Computer MusicMonitor™ will play bass as
deep as Companion 2, and at a higher maximum SPL than Companion 2.

Repairability

The speaker assemblies are not repairable. Once opened, the gasket used to acoustically seal the assem-
bly will be compromised. Re-using the gasket may cause air leaks or distortion. The gasket will not be
available as a service part, it is recommended to replace the entire assembly when it is defective. Both left
and right speakers are available for replacement. See page 4 for part numbers.

Demo Mode

The Speaker System demo mode enables sales channels to build a highly effective display, in "low sales
touch" environments, with a variable-source input. In demo mode, The Speaker System turns on automati-
cally when power is applied. When the Speaker System turns on in demo mode the volume is automatically
set to maximum.
Entering Demo Mode:
Turn on the Computer MusicMonitor™ Press and hold the volume up button until the volume reaches
maximum and the LED starts to blink. Continue to hold the volume up button (approximately 30 seconds)
until the LED stops blinking, which indicates that the Speaker System has entered demo mode.
Leaving Demo Mode:
Turn on the Computer MusicMonitor™. Press and hold the volume down button until volume reaches
minimum and the LED starts to blink. Continue to hold the volume down button (approximately 30 seconds)
until the LED stops blinking, which indicates that the speakers have left demo mode and returned to normal
behavior. The speakers can only enter and leave demo mode 25 times. When the speakers leave demo
mode for the 50th time, it will not be possible to place that unit back into demo mode. To determine the
speakers are in demo mode, turn them off and back on. Press the volume up button once. If the LED blinks
twice, it is in demo mode. If it blinks once, it is not in demo mode. (If M3.2 is at maximum volume when it is
turned off, then upon turn-on, the volume will be set to maximum in demo mode, but only to the maximum
threshold value if not in demo mode).
