Before using the article for the fi rst time, please read the instructions
through carefully and keep them for future reference. If the article is
given to someone else, it should always be accompanied by these
instructions.
The manufacturer and importer do not accept any liability if the
information in these instructions is not complied with.

Please note
•
The lamp is designed exclusively for providing lighting in dry
indoor rooms. It is not suitable for use in damp rooms, such as
bathrooms.
•
The lamp may not be used for the direct irradiation of people,
animals or plants.
•
The article is designed for personal use only and is not intend-
ed for commercial applications.
•
Use the article only as described in the instructions. Any other
use is deemed to be improper.
•
The following are excluded from the warranty: all defects
caused by improper handling or damage. This also applies to
normal wear and tear.
Dangers of Injury
•
Keep children and animals away from the packaging material.
There is a danger of suffocation!
•
Keep children and animals away from the lamp. Do not leave
children and animals alone with the lamp unsupervised.
•
Do not look directly into the light source! It could damage your
eyes.
•
Always allow the lamp to cool down completely before you
clean the lamp or store it away. Danger of burns!
The Proper Handling of the Article
•
The article should only be connected to a properly installed
plug socket with earthing contacts. The plug socket must also
be readily accessible after connection so that the connection
to the mains can quickly be isolated. The mains voltage must
match the technical data of the article. Only use suitable exten-
sion cables whose technical data is the same as that of the
article.
•
In the interest of your own safety, you should therefore inspect
the article for damage each time before you use it. Only use
it if the article, the mains cable and the plug have no signs of
damage!
•
Do not make any changes to the article. Also do not replace the
mains cable yourself. Only have repairs to the article, cable and
plug carried out in a specialist workshop. Contact the customer
service department if necessary. Incorrect repairs may pose
considerable risks to the user.
•
Remove the mains plug from the plug socket
– if you are not going to use the article for a prolonged period
of time,
– if a fault occurs while the article is in operation,
– before a thunderstorm,
– before you clean the article.
•
Do not operate the article in a very damp environment or in the
vicinity of combustible material.
•
Always pull the plug and never the mains cable.
•
Never immerse the article, mains cable or plug in water or other
liquids and ensure that they cannot fall into water or become
wet.

Should the article fall into water, switch off the power supply
immediately. Do not attempt to pull the article out of the water
while it is still connected to the mains power!
•
Never touch the article, mains cable or plug with wet hands
when these components are connected to the mains power.
•
Always place the article on a dry, even, and fi rm surface.
•
Lay the cable in such a way that it does not present a trip haz-
ard.
•
Make sure that the mains cable is not squashed, bent or laid
over sharp edges and does not come into contact with hot sur-
faces.
•
Maintain a suffi cient distance from heat sources such as hobs
or ovens in order not to damage the article. Do not place any
naked fl ames, e.g. burning candles, in the immediate vicinity of
the article, cable or plug.
•
The article may only be set up with a minimum gap of 20 cm
from fl ammable materials such as curtains, etc.
•
Do not place any covers, e.g. cloths or similar items, over the
article. Contact with these sources could lead to a fi re.
•
Do not drop the article or subject it to severe impact.
•
Do not pull or carry the article by the cable.
•
Do not expose the article to extreme temperatures, wide tem-
perature variations, moisture, wet conditions or direct sunlight.
•
Do not use any corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents to clean
the article. These can damage the surface.
