Steam Ironing Delicate Synthetics:
In practice most fabrics can be steam ironed due to the barrier the steam creates between
the soleplate and the fabric. The temperature control dial must be set at the beginning of
the coloured (3 dot) section. When the pilot light goes off turn the Variable Steam Control
to the maximum steam setting. Hold the iron horizontally to ensure that it is steaming
before starting to iron (check first on an inside seam).
Connecting the iron to the mains electrical supply:
•
Plug the iron into an electric socket. The temperature light comes on and indicates
that the iron is heating up. When the temperature light goes out, the set temperature
has been reached and the iron is ready to use.
•
During ironing the temperature light on the iron automatically switches on/off, as
the thermostat maintains the set temperature ( you may continue ironing during this
process.)
Setting the Steam Control Switch:
•
Set the Steam Control between 0 and 1.
Iron ready for Steam Ironing:
•
Steam is produced as soon as the iron is held horizontally.
Steam Off:
Steam generation can be interrupted by:
•
Standing the iron on its heel
•
Sliding the Steam Control switch to 0.
Spray Setting:
When there is water in the tank, the items to be ironed can be sprayed.
•
Press the spray button down slowly, to produce a jet and quickly and strongly to
produce a mist.
Power Steam:
•
Press the Power steam button down and then release it during ironing. A strong shot
of steam penetrates deep into the fabric. Leave and interval of at least four seconds
between pressing the Power steam button.
Vertical Ironing:
The iron can also be used for vertical ironing. This is especially useful for getting wrinkles
out of hanging clothes, curtains, wall hangings, etc.
Warning! Never iron clothes on the body!
