AUDIOCODES MP-104 GATEWAY INSTALLATION
This section describes how to install and configure the AudioCodes MP-104 gateway, shown
below.

RESTART BUTTON

The AudioCodes MP-104 FXO gateway supports up to four loop start line (FXO - foreign
exchange office) ports. Although the MP-104 is similar to the MP-100, each gateway uses a
different switch type for configuring the device. The MP-100 uses DIP switches, and the MP-
104 uses a command line switch (-fb) (see
refer to the MP-104 User's Manual & Installation Guide.
The MP-104 on a v8.x IPRC firmware supports the peer-to-peer (P2P) audio feature. This fea-
ture allows certain IP and SIP devices to transmit and receive audio directly with each other.
With this feature, the audio is not transmitted or received through the system cabinet. This
reduces delay and removes the audio stream from the Time Division Mulitplex (TDM) high-
way.
To use P2P audio:
Because the devices are not using cabinet resources, devices connected in a P2P call cannot
use the following features:

running version 8.1 firmware.

The devices must be members of the same Network Group.
The IPRC and IP devices must be upgraded to version 8.1 firmware. (SIP endpoints do
not require firmware upgrades.)
The devices must terminate on an IPRC with v8.x firmware.
There cannot be a NAT or firewall between the communicating devices.
For SIP endpoints, the latest version of SIP Server (v1.1 or later) must be installed.
