USER MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
MAINTENANCE OF THE BLADES
Always apply oil to the blades before and after use. This will ensure maximum
cutting performance. Hold clipper away from your body in a downward position
and apply oil on the front and sides of the cutter blade. Wipe off excess oil with
a soft dry cloth.
SHARPENING/REPLACEMENT OF BAB840C BLADE SET
To maintain optimal performance, the blades should
be cleaned and oiled regularly. The blades of the
BabylissPro clipper are removable for easy cleaning. Set
the blades in the longest length cutting position. Hold
the clipper with the blade frame pointing up and push
up to slide the blade frame out.
Remove hair from the blades using the cleaning brush.
Oil the blades with the oil provided with the clippers.
(Fig. 1)
Never use any other product; the oil provided is specially
formulated for clippers and won't evaporate or slow the blades down. After
cleaning, replace the blade set by snapping back into place.
Any other servicing should be performed by an authorized service
representative since the appliance has no other user-serviceable parts. The
product is for professional use.
Do not pull, twist, or wrap line cord around appliance.

HOW TO USE CUTTING GUIDES
To use the cutting guides, turn the clipper to the OFF position.
Slide the cutting guide onto the top of the clipper blades, and
then pull down and over the back of the blade set (Fig. 2). To
remove, pull up on the back of the cutting guide and then pull
away from the blades.
BabylissPro cutting blades are ground from the finest quality steel and are
hardened to extend the cutting performance. As with any cutting appliance,
the blades' cutting edges will become dull from repeated usage. Increasing
blade tension to force blades to cut can cause the clipper to overheat and
reduce motor life. When the cutting blades no longer cut smoothly, sharpening
or replacement is required.
ADJUSTABLE TAPER LEVER
The taper lever is positioned at your thumb. You can hold the clipper in your
hand and adjust the lever at the same time – while you are clipping.
The taper lever adjusts the closeness of the cut from a close cut with the taper
lever in the UP position, to a longer-length cut with the taper lever in the DOWN
position. To increase cutting length, slowly push the lever down. To cut closer,
push the lever up. Because a different cutting edge is used in each setting,
using the taper lever lengthens the life of your blades.
Packed-in hair can slow down any clipper. To remove hair without removing
the blades, keep the clipper on and quickly push
the taper lever back and forth from "close" to
"longer" cut several times. If you do this every
time, especially after heavy hair cutting, the
blades should remain free of cut hair.
