The AB-1 switch permits local selection of program material from the main sound distribution or an in-room system such
as a TV set, another Hi-Fi, etc. It can switch between two amplifiers and a single stereo pair of speakers, or between 2 amplifiers
and a volume control for the speakers, as in the 25 WAB and 72 WAB.
Used by itself, the switch includes 3 pre-wireable plug-in connectors and a rocker switch mounted on a single junction
box size wall plate. When used with a control (25 WAB or 72 WAB) a double size junction box is required along with a double
size wall plate. Connections for the AB-1 and the WAB series are illustrated at the end of these instructions.

Note that the Left and Right grounds (-) are completely separate to avoid instability problems with amplifiers which have
isolated output grounds. The AB-1 switch connectors can be removed and prewired if desired. This is also true of the switch
portion of the 25 WAB and 72 WAB series, but the connector at the attenuator is non-removable.
To make a connection, strip about 1/4" of insulation from the wire ends, and twist the loose strands together tightly so
that no loose wire strands stick out to cause possible short circuits! Insert wire in the connector hole, and tighten the screw .
Inspect the connection for loose wire.
If the removable connectors are wired before plugging into the PC board, note that the wiring order is the same for all 3
connectors if they are oriented similarly. The order is: R+, R-, L-, L+ (left to right). This coding is printed on the PC board.
The connectors can be installed in two ways, with the screws up and the wires exiting radially, or with the wires exiting
to the rear, perpendicular to the PC board. Use the most convenient method, but install all in the same manner to avoid channel
crossing. The A and B input connectors face in opposite directions!
When plugging the connectors together, observe care to engage all 4 pins on each. If displaced, it is possible to create a
short circuit across one of the amplifier outputs.
If channel swapping is desired due to changing furniture location in the room, it is readily accomplished by reversing the
AMPLIFIER A and/or AMPLIFIER B plug(s) 180 degrees.
