Condensate

In operation, the ACT 7 room unit condenses water vapour
out of the atmosphere. This water is pumped away through
the interconnecting line between the room unit and the heat
exchanger. Re-evaporation of some of the water occurs in the
heat exchanger, but water will also drip through the base of
the heat exchanger.
Consider carefully the potential of dripping water when
positioning the external heat exchanger.

Connections

The ACT 7 room unit must only be operated when connected
to the heat exchanger with the interconnecting line provided.
Connect the condensate drain to both the
ACT 7 room unit and the heat exchanger by pushing the
clear hose ends into the grey connector (push darker grey
ring 'in' and pull the hose to remove). Connect the heat
exchanger power cord to both the ACT 7 room unit and heat
exchanger using the sockets provided. Connect the water
pipes to the room unit and the heat exchanger.
The interconnecting line should be routed carefully to avoid
any possibility of kinking or unnecessary restrictions to the
flow of water. The line will be more susceptible to kinking
when warm.

Room unit fluid level

The fluid system in the ACT 7 room unit should be at the
correct level when delivered. Look through the inspection
window and check that the level is between the MAX and
MIN on the tank in the back of the room unit. If necessary
top up the room unit with antifreeze (33%) and water. To
ensure the system is properly protected, do not mix different
types of antifreeze. Original specification is ethylene glycol
based antifreeze, containing rust/corrosion inhibitors, suitable
for aluminium systems, 33% giving protection to -20°C. This
specification will protect the entire water circuit down to
-20°C (-5°F).
The header tank filler is in the rear of the room unit and
can be accessed by removing the two screws holding the
security plate over the filler tank cap. (See Fig.1).
ACT 7 QUICK START GUIDE
Ensure the ACT 7 is running in cooling mode before slowly
removing the header tank cap. Top up the tank and replace
the cap and security plate. The approximate total volume of
the system complete with heat exchanger and lines is as
follows:
Line set length
System capacity
5m
5.3 litres/1.16 gallons
10m
6.7 litres/1.47 gallons
15m
8.1 litres/1.78 gallons
20m
9.5 litres/2.08 gallons
25m
10.9 litres/2.39 gallons
30m
12.3 litres/2.70 gallons
Do not apply mains water pressure to the system.
Refrigerant charge
The device incorporates a hermetically sealed refrigeration
circuit containing 0.88kg of R407c refrigerant.
Global warming potential (GWP) 1774.
Carbon dioxide equivalent 1.6 tonnes.
