ADJUSTING THE TORQUE

The torque is adjusted by rotating the torque setting. The torque is greater when
the torque setting is set on a higher position and less when set on a low position.
Note: "1" denotes the lowest and " " the highest.
Torque is set by means of a torque setting according to different screws and
different materials.
You can adjust to a suitable torque. For instance, if the screw is long and the
material is hard, then adjust to a higher setting.
BIT STORAGE
To carry spare bits or drills, place it into the drill groove (7).
DRILLING
Before using for drilling, the torque setting should be set on the drill position " ".
When drilling a hard smooth surface, use a centre punch to mark the desired hole
location.
This will prevent the drill bit from slipping off centre as the hole is started.
Hold the tool firmly and place the tip of the drill or bit into the work piece, applying
only enough pressure to keep the bit cutting. Do not force or apply side pressure
to elongate a hole.

WOOD DRILLING

For maximum performance, use high speed steel drills for wood drilling and turn
the torque setting on the drill to position " ".
Begin drilling at a very low speed to prevent the bit from slipping from the starting
point.
Increase the speed as the drill bit bites into the material.
When drilling through holes, place a block of wood behind the work piece to
prevent ragged edges on the rear side of the hole.

METAL DRILLING

For maximum performances, use high steel bits for metal or steel drilling.
Turn the torque setting on the drill position to " ".
Start drilling at a very low speed to prevent the bit from slipping off the starting
point.
Maintain a speed and a pressure which allows cutting without overheating the bit.
Applying too much pressure will overheat the drill, wear the bearings, bend or burn
bits, or produce off-centre and irregular shaped holes.
When drilling large holes in metal, it is recommended that you drill with a small bit
at first, then finish with a large bit. Also, lubricate the bit with oil to improve drilling
action and increase bit life.
