Troubleshooting Guide
The filter housing is leaking.
First check that all filter cartridges are sitting
upright inside the canisters If so, then check
that the O-ring is in place It should fit snug, not
too tight or not too loose Confirm that it stays
in place when tightening the canister
The tank appears full; yet, only a small
amount of water comes out of faucet.
There are two likely causes: the tank has low
pressure or a broken bladder You can trouble
shoot with the following steps:
• Shut off the main water supply
• Place a bucket under the tank and remove
tank by disconnecting the ball valve
• Dump the water from the tank through the
top stem by turning it upside down You
may add air from the front valve to help
empty the water
• Use a gauge at the front air valve to check
tank pressure It should be within 7-10 PSI
while empty If too low, you can use a bicycle
pump to add more pressure to the tank
• Re-connect the tank to the system and
turn on the water supply
Continuous drain.
All RO systems create drain water The drain water
should run only when the system is making water
The drain should stop when tank is full If the drain
runs for more than 3 hours, the problem might be
caused by the following reasons:
• Faulty automatic shut off valve (at the pure
water outlet of the membrane housing),
• Faulty flow restrictor (the tube marked
"flow 300" and connects to the drain line),
• Low tank pressure
Cloudy water.
With a new system, air bubbles in water or ice
may occur and normally clears up in two weeks
If cloudyness persist, check the membrane
with a TDS meter If the meter reads below 75%
rejection, the membrane needs to be replaced
12
High TDS level in RO water.
The RO system should produce a TDS rejection
rate of about 85-95% Check the following:
• Confirm that the RO membrane stage 4 has
been installed
• If your membrane stage 4 is installed and
over 2 years old, it is time to replace it with
a new one
• Confirm the tubing connection is correct
High TDS levels can result if the
(Step 7, p8.)
drain line and pure water line are reversed
The water has a funny taste or odor.

Sudden drop in RO water production.
There are a few potential factors causing the
problem:
• Feed water valve is plugged or closed
• Sediment/Carbon prefilter or Carbon Post
Filter is clogged
• Low incoming water pressure
• Reverse Osmosis Membrane is dirty
• Air pressure in Storage Tank is low
• Air Bladder in Storage Tank is ruptured
• Storage Tank valve is closed
• No water to drain Drain Flow Restrictor is
clogged
• Check Valve on RO Membrane Housing is
stuck
• The Automatic Shut-Off Valve is
malfunctioning
