How the Cat Sensor Works

The Litter-Robot Cat Sensor is a weight sensitive switch
that detects your cat when it enters or exits the Globe.
Your cat must be at least five (5) lbs for the
sensor to work. Do not use the Litter-Robot with
kittens or cats that weigh less than five lbs.
A seven minute count-down is started upon the cat
leaving the Globe. The Litter-Robot starts its cleaning
cycle at the end of the count-down. Any subsequent
tripping of the Cat Sensor will start a new seven minute
count-down, preventing the Globe from rotating with
your cat inside.
Testing the Cat Sensor
1. Make sure that the Litter-Robot is ready to be
activated (the green light should be on).
2. Next, press down on the step on the drawer and
then release it. The red light should be on.
3. Cancel the red light by pressing any button. The
green light should now be on, indicating that the
Litter-Robot is again OK and waiting. If the red light
does not go off, there may be too much litter in the
Globe or the Cat Sensor switch may be
contaminated (see Troubleshooting Guide).
4. Caution: Please make sure that your smallest
cat is heavy enough to trip the weight sensor
before allowing the Litter-Robot to operate in
unattended automatic mode.

sensitivity for your cat, this section provides detailed,
step-by-step instructions.
Adjusting the Cat Sensor is quite easy. You will need a
pair of pliers or a small wrench.
1. Unplug the power cord. Remove the waste
drawer by pulling it out.
2. Locate the sensor at the front and in the center
of the bottom of the Base. You will see two
wires and a lock nut.
3. Remove the nut using pliers or wrench, hold the
loose wire as you remove the nut.
4. Remove the wire that was held in place by the
nut.
5. The next visible item on top looks like a flat
silver disc. If you press down on the Base, you
