continue tightening end cap until laser flare is switched on (visible
through protective front cap). Remove protective plastic cap on
front end of unit. Turn sight ring until it is aligned with vertical laser
line. Your Rescue Laser

®
3. Ensure Rescue Laser

®
cannot be lost. Use the hole in the end cap to secure with a tether or
lanyard.
4. To turn Rescue Laser
off, point the light output end ( laser aperture )
®
down for safety and twist then unscrew back end cap until the laser is
off, plus one more turn. Replace protective cap
to keep lens clean.
Signaling (a) *
Aim Rescue Laser
emergency signaling device in
®
the direction of the target ( aircraft, boat, vehicle,
rescue party ) you wish to signal. With the laser line
vertical ( up and down ), point laser aperture
toward the target. Make a "V" with your
outstretched hand over the intended target. With
the signaling device held near your eye in line of
sight, very slowly scan the vertical laser back and
forth between your fingers toward the target
making each finger red as you scan and line up
target through the sight ring.
Important
: Always point the laser output end away from your eyes.
Keep signaling until you have positive contact with your rescuers or target
and they are able to see you without the use of the signaling device.
*Signals up to 30 miles away. Testing conducted
with the naked eye, on a clear moonless night with
no background or environmental lighting. The
effectiveness of any signaling device may be
compromised by actual environmetal conditions.
Detecting (b)
When looking for reflective materials, point the
laser aperture toward the object you are scanning
and hold the laser near your line of sight to see the
return flash from the object.

Turn laser off before changing batteries or cleaning. The Rescue Laser
Flare
Green operates on one CR123, 3V lithium battery. To replace, turn
®
laser off, unscrew end cap and remove battery. Insert one fresh battery as
shown in the diagram above with the positive (+) end facing toward the
end cap, then screw on end cap. Tighten end cap until laser light is
switched on (visible through protective front plastic cap), then unscrew
until light is off, plus one more turn. For optimum performance, the battery
in your
Rescue Laser

Lens may be cleaned with a soft dry cloth or camera lens brush. Do not
use cleaning fluids. Exterior may be wiped with a damp cloth to remove
surface dirt, then dried.
Troubleshooting

®
on, verify battery has been inserted with the positive end facing outward
as shown in diagram above. Check contact between the battery and the
end cap. Any corrosion formed by a foreign substance should be
carefully removed.
2. Laser light failure — verify one CR123, 3V lithium battery has been
properly inserted with the positive end facing outward as shown in the
diagram above, if necessary, replace battery.
