Propane (LP): Before you proceed any further, here are some safety tips. As with all energy products,
gas, electric or any type of fuel you should know what it is and understand how to safely use it.
Propane is a liquid stored under pressure in tanks. It is a high pressure fuel and is heavier than
air and will sink to the bottom. It is critical that the burner be installed with the holes facing up when
using propane.
Propane leaves the tank and is dispensed through a pressure regulator to your burner. Always
make sure a regulator is on your hose between the LP tank and Kamado Rocket.
Never use a damaged or rusty propane tank.
Check for leaks after every LP refill. You can do this with the sniff test, bubble test, or purchase
a propane gas detector.
A strong gas smell or the hissing sound of gas indicates a serious problem with your burner or
LP gas tank. Failure to locate the leak could result in a fire or explosion.
The LP tank manufacture is responsible for the materials, workmanship and performance of the
tank. If the tank has a defect, malfunctions, or you have a question regarding the tank, call the tank
manufacturer's customer service center. The number is on the warning decal which is permanently
attached to the tank.
