UV Index
The UV Index is the strength of the sun's UV rays measured at your location.
The higher the number, the stronger the sun's rays are. Check the UV index, and
take the proper precautions to protect yourself when you are outdoors.
UV Index
0 – 2 (Green)
Wear sunglasses on bright days. If you burn easily, cover up and use sunscreen.
3 – 5 (Yellow) Moderate Take precautions – when spending long periods
Wear sun protective clothing, a wide-brimmed hat, and UV-blocking sunglass-
es. Use sunscreen, even on cloudy days, and after swimming or sweating.
6 – 7 (Orange) High
Limit direct sun exposure by seeking shade or wear sun protective clothing, a
wide-brimmed hat, and UV-blocking sunglasses. Use sunscreen, even on cloudy
days, and after swimming or sweating.
8-10 (Red)
Avoid direct sun exposure by staying in shade or wear sun protective clothing, a
wide-brimmed hat, and UV-blocking sunglasses. Use sunscreen, even on cloudy
days, and after swimming or sweating.
11+ (Violet)
Avoid direct sun exposure by staying in shade or wear sun protective clothing, a
wide-brimmed hat, and UV-blocking sunglasses. Use sunscreen, even on cloudy
days, and after swimming or sweating.
