Chapter II Instructions and Operation Methods
1) Absolute measurement: According to the user's habits and test characteristics, press the [
] key
at any time to get linear (W) and logarithmic (dBm) readings. If the unit displayed on the screen is mw,
μw or nw, the test result is linear; if the displayed unit is dBm, the test result is a logarithmic value.
Logarithmic value (dBm) = 10 * log (measured linear value/1mW)
2) Relative measurement: Press the [
] key while testing, and the screen displays dB, which is the
relative measurement. At this time, the power value is stored as a reference value in the memory of the
instrument. If the incident light power changes, the displayed value is the difference between the current
value and reference value. This measurement method makes it easy to perform optical power
attenuation tests.
2.2.5 Backlight function: In the case of dark light, it is not easy to see the LCD display content, and user
can short press the backlight button (
) to turn on the backlight, which is convenient for users to read.
2.2.6 Light source function: The initial state of the light source is off, long press the backlight key (
)
to enter the light source setting mode; the light source state is: off, 1310nm, or 1550nm. To turn off the
cycle of light source, long press the backlight key to exit the light source setting mode. When entering
the light source setting mode, the light source state is the same as that when the light source setting
mode is exited, and the light source returns to the initial state when the power is turned off.
2.3 Battery Management
2.3.1 Battery Indicator
The standard instrument comes with a built-in rechargeable lithium battery, and the dry battery is used
as a backup battery. If the meter is working, the internal monitoring circuit monitors the charge battery
level, and the LCD screen displays the status of the rechargeable battery in real time. If the rechargeable
battery power drops and the power is zero, please charge it in time. Otherwise, it will enter the battery
intelligent switching state.
2.3.2 Battery intelligent switching
The power supply priority of the instrument is the charging adapter power supply/mobile power supply ->
built-in rechargeable battery power -> dry battery power supply. If the meter is powered by the
rechargeable battery, the dry battery will not supply power; when the rechargeable battery is low, the dry
battery is turned on. When the rechargeable battery is turned off, the LCD does not indicate the capacity
of rechargeable battery.
