7. Install Wall Finish (For Receptor Only Installations)
- Cover the framing with water-resistant wall material. Apply the wall material over the receptor flange leaving a
1/4" (6mm) gap between the receptor rim edge and the wall material. This gap helps to reduce the possibility of
water seeping into the wall material.
- Seal the joints between the receptor rim edge and the water-resistant wall material with silicone sealant.
- Apply tape and mud to the water-resistant wall material. Install the finished wall over the water-resistant wall
material. Seal the joints between the receptor rim edge and the finished wall material with silicone sealant.
8. Finish Installation
- Connect the drain to the trap.
- Install the handle trim and showerhead.
- Open hot and cold valves and check all supply connections for leaks. Check the drain connections for leaks. Turn
valves off.
- Install the finish wall material over the nailing flanges.
- Before installing a shower door, apply silicone sealant to the first 4" (10.2cm) of the joint between the walls and
receptor at the front of the shower.
- Apply silicone sealant to all openings around valves and outlets before installing cover plates.
9. Clean-Up After Installation
CAUTION: Risk of product damage. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
- Remove any loose debris prior to cleaning.
- If possible, soak the shower receptor with warm water and mild detergent to clean.
- If soil remains, clean the area with a non-abrasive multi-purpose cleaner and soft cloth.
- Stubborn stains, paint, tar or adhesive can be removed with solvent applied to a clean white cotton cloth. Rub the
stained area lightly until the residue disappears. Such solvents include Acetone, Xylene, Methyl Ethyl Ketone
(MEK), Turpentine or Toluene.
WARNING: Risk of personal injury. Work in a well ventilated area. These solvents are highly flammable and
should be used sparingly. DO NOT SMOKE or work with solvents near an open flame. KEEP OUT OF THE
REACH OF CHILDREN.
CAUTION: Risk of product damage. Do not allow solvents to go down the drain or come in contact with plastic
drain grate, pipes or fittings.
