8. Using the seat extraction tool (pn 109437), remove the
inhalation valve holder (8), taking care not to press on the
valve. Extract the o-ring (7) .
9. Remove the inhalation and exhalation valves (9). Check
the surfaces of the valves for scratches and cleanness.
NOTE:
If valves are in good condition, they
may be reused. Valves should be replaced
if they show signs of deterioration.
THIS ENDS DISASSEMBLY
Before starting reassembly, perform parts
cleaning and lubrication in accordance with
Procedure A: Cleaning and Lubricating
(p. 10).
REASSEMBLY PROCEDURE
1. To replace the valves (9), pass the tail through the hole
in the valve holder (8) and pull gently on it until the shoulder
passes through to the inside of the valve holder. If valve is
new, cut excess length of tail, leaving approximately 1/2 inch.
2. Install the o-ring (7) onto the valve holder (8).
3. Insert the valve holder (8) into the body (10) on the side
with the outward-facing arrow. Begin by installing the valve
holder into the orifi ce, then position the valve holder correctly
by pushing it with your fi nger.
4. Insert the valve holder (8) into the body (10) on the side
with the inward-facing arrow.
CAUTION:
The valve holders should be
installed so that the gas can circulate in
the direction indicated by the arrows
engraved on the mouthpiece.
