Using the Teppan Yaki plate

The Teppan Yaki plate is equipped with
a thermostat that maintains an even
temperature.
The Teppan Yaki plate must first be
"burned in" to prevent food from

room or wait for at least 1 minute
before trying again.
 If the burner does not not ignite on
the second attempt, turn the control
knob clockwise to  (Off) and refer to
the "Problem solving guide".

Tips for frying

Clean the Teppan Yaki plate before
every use with a damp cloth to
remove dust particles or other
residues.
– Always pre-heat the Teppan Yaki
plate for approx. 20 minutes at
maximum power. Then select the
setting you wish to cook with.
– Pat moist food dry with paper towel
to prevent splashing.
– To prevent meat from drying out, do
not season with salt until after it has
been cooked.
– Very little fat is required for cooking
on the Teppan Yaki plate and no fat is
required for marinated food. If you are
using fat, do not put it on the Teppan
Yaki plate until the Teppan Yaki plate
is hot.
– Use only fats and oils that can
withstand high temperatures. For
example canola oil, coconut oil, and
lard are suitable.
– Add sprigs of herbs, such as
rosemary or thyme to the Teppan Yaki
plate for extra aroma.
