Removing the Light Shield Cap

The light shield cap should be removed and placed on the top of the

mirror tube during drawing.

# When microscopic observation is required while the drawing attach-

ment is mounted on the microscope, attach the light shield cap on

the drawing sheet side to shield the light.

Focusing the Drawing Sheet

Turn the focusing handle to bring the drawing sheet into focus.

Adjusting the Brightness Balance Between the

Drawing Image and Specimen Image

Look into the observation tube eyepieces, place the tip of a pen or similar

thin object on the drawing sheet and adjust the microscope illumination

so that both the pen tip and specimen are clearly visible.

# If the drawing sheet surface looks dark, illuminate it with a desk lamp

or place the sheet on a light box.

Drawing

Look into the observation tube eyepieces and trace the specimen image

on the drawing sheet using a pencil or similar writing tool.
