Terminology
Before moving on, take a few minutes to read the
following information about the conventions used
in this manual. Familiarity with these conventions
will help you greatly as you learn how to use your
new equipment.
• Buttons on your navigation unit are indicated
by ALL CAPITAL, BOLD lettering:

available on the screen are described in paren-

About the definition of terminol-
ogy
"Front Display" and "Rear Display"
In this manual, the screen that is attached to the
body of the navigation unit will be referred to as
the "Front Display". Any additional optional
screen that is purchased for use in conjunction
with the navigation unit will be referred to as the
"Rear Display".
Video image
"Video image" in this manual indicates the mov-
ing image from DVD-Video in the built-in DVD
drive or from the equipment that is connected to
the navigation system with AV-BUS or RCA cable,
such as a TV tuner or general-purpose AV equip-
ment.
