antenna is connected to the antenna terminal, be
sure the antenna system 1s grounded so as to pro
vide some protection against vaitage surges and
built up static charges.
In the U.S.A, section 819 of the National Electr,
cal Code, ANSI/NEPA No, 70-1984, provides
information with respect to proper grounding ot
the mast and supporting structure, grounding of
the lead in wite to an antenna discharge unit, size
of grounding conductors, location of antenna dis
charge umt, connection to grounding etectrades,
and requirements for the grounding electrode. See
Fig. A
