Setting up your BlackBerry

Cellhire has chosen the BlackBerry
smartphone to run its
®
Vismo Individual Tracking solution. Please note this device
has been programmed with the Vismo and Facebook
applications, accessible by simply clicking the icon on
your Home screen. You may also add a personal e-mail
account such as Yahoo or G-mail; please follow the POP3
Setup instructions in this pamphlet. Please review these
Quick Start operating instructions to familiarize yourself
with the basic use of the device. Further information about
using the Vismo Tracking service can be found at
www.cellhire.com/ambassador/instructions.
Setting up your BlackBerry
®
phone
Be sure the battery is charged. Your phone is supplied with a
dual volt charger (110/220 volt) and an international adapter
so it can be charged anywhere in the world.
Setting up your BlackBerry
ID
®
A BlackBerry
ID will be needed to access the phone's
®
special features. To set up your ID:
1. In the icon bar on the main screen, select "All" to bring up
all the icons.
2. Select the Setup icon.
3. On the Setup screen, select the BlackBerry ID icon.
4. Scroll to the bottom and select Create New.
5. Scroll through the Terms & Conditions and select I Agree.
6. Enter in the required information (your BlackBerry ID will
be the e-mail address you will be adding to the device, i.e.
[email protected]). Click Submit.
7. The screen will inform you that you have successfully
created your BlackBerry ID and that an e-mail has been
sent to your internet e-mail address. Open your internet
e-mail account from your computer or smartphone, open
the BlackBerry ID e-mail and click on Confirm your e-mail
address. The screen will show your internet e-mail address
and ask you to enter your password, click Submit.
8. From the BlackBerry device select the Setup icon, then
click on E-mail Accounts. You will see your e-mail address,
enter your internet e-mail account password and you will be
connected to your internet account.
Deleting your e-mail account
When you return home you will want to remove the e-mail
account form the Cellhire BlackBerry device. This is important
because you will want to keep the contents of your e-mail
account private. To remove the POP3 account from the Cellhire
rental BlackBerry:
1. Select the Setup icon
from the main screen.
2. Select E-Mail Settings.
3. Select Internet E-mail Accounts.
®
4. Click on your e-mail address.
5. Select Delete.
6. The screen should say "Are you sure you want to delete
the email account: _______?" Click Yes.
Important Note:
account from the Cellhire device before returning the unit.
Customers returning units with active POP3 e-mail accounts
will be subject to a $50.00 administration fee to remove the
account from the device.

Making a Phone Call
On the main screen, simply begin dialing from the keypad. To
make the + sign appear, press the letter O/+ key. Press the
Call
key to send the call.
Calling the US:
To call a Spokane number, for example, you would press
the letter O/+ key to get the + sign, then dial the US country
code (1), the Spokane area code (509), followed by the phone
number (555-1212): +1-509-555-1212.
Calling another Cellhire phone or any international number:
PLEASE NOTE:
All Vismo plans have British phone numbers, so
country code 44 must be used when dialing.
To call a European roaming number, for example, you would
press the letter O/+ key to get the + sign, the European
country code (44), followed by the phone number (7831
600000): +44 7831 600000.
To call a China phone number, you would press the letter O/+
key to get the + sign, the China country code (86), followed
by the phone number (13871 600000): +86 13871 600000.
A list of country codes can be found on the right.
SMS Messaging
1. Select Text Messages from the main screen.
2. Press the Menu
Message.
3. Type your contact's name or number in the To: field.
4. Scroll down to the bottom and enter your message.
5. When you're ready to send your message, press the
Menu
key and select Send.
Web Browsing
To browse web pages, the following requirements must be met:
• Wireless coverage must be active.
• EDGE or 3G must appear with the wireless coverage
indicator in the top right corner on the home screen.
1. Select the Browser icon from the main screen.
Please be sure you delete your POP3 e-mail
key and select Compose Text
2. You then will have the option of either typing in a search
word or a URL in the top field, or selecting a bookmark
from the list below.
3. To enter a period (or "dot"), press Alt+M. To enter a slash
(/), press Alt+G.

Accessing E-mail Service
Sending an E-mail
1. Select Messages from the main screen.
2. Press the Menu
key and select Compose Email.
3. Enter an email address in the To: field.
4. Enter a subject in the Subject: field.
5. Compose your message.
6. When you're ready to send your message, press the
Menu
key and select Send.
Cellhire Country Codes

Country Codes to be used with Cellhire Solutions:
Please note on the below list that all European countries and
several countries outside of Europe have the same country
code of 44. This is because the Cellhire airtime solution for these
countries is a British phone number designed to be used as a
roaming solution, so when calling the Cellhire device in these
countries, you must dial the British country code 44.
Please note that all Vismo solutions will have a British phone
number, so you must dial the country code 44 when calling a
Vismo tracking device.

Retrieving your voicemail messages:
