Several new features have been implemented as part of the standard 3.6 software
release, including attachment viewing, wireless email reconciliation, remote
address lookup, group addresses, and the ability to automatically receive more of
a long message.
In the Profiles application, the profile item Direct Connect Phone has been
changed to Direct Connect.
In the Profiles application, an SMS item has been added.
The WTLS SIM Card portability feature has been implemented.
Basic support for TCP, including support for HTTP, SSL, and HTTPS, has been
implemented. Refer to the technical advisory "BlackBerry 6510 TCP Support" for
more information. This document is available at
http://www.blackberry.com/developers.
The handheld LED now blinks to indicate that the battery is being charged when
the handheld was turned off. The LED blinks if you are charging your handheld
using the travel charger or your computer's USB port.
The WAP push feature has been added in this release.
Now, to end a phone call, you must press and hold the Escape button.
If you attempt to use the Push-to-Talk™ (PTT™) button to make a Nextel Direct
Connect call when your handheld radio is turned off, you are prompted to turn
on the radio before continuing.
When the handheld is locked, you can now respond to an incoming Nextel Direct
Connect Call Alert, either by queuing it or by pressing the PTT button to answer
the alert.
Previously, a problem with searching for an S/MIME certificate over the wireless
network prevented the lookup from operating as expected.
Previously, the DTMF tones feature did not operate as expected on some voice
mail systems.
Previously, you could not place a Nextel Direct Connect call from a link on a web
page.
