Focus Stacking (Focus Shift Photography)

Exposure smoothing: Off is recommended if lighting and other

conditions will not change during shooting, On when pho-

tographing landscapes and the like under variable lighting.

Silent photography: Choosing On (recommended) limits cam-

era shake and reduces power consumption and wear on

the shutter. Choose Off to prevent flicker when shooting

under fluorescent or mercury-vapor lighting (if flicker per-

sists, enable Flicker reduction in the photo shooting menu

or choose a shutter speed adapted to the frequency of the

local power supply: ¹⁄₁₂₅ s, ¹⁄₆₀ s, or ¹⁄₃₀ s for 60 Hz; ¹⁄₁₀₀ s, ¹⁄₅₀ s,

or ¹⁄₂₅ s for 50 Hz).

Starting storage folder: We recommend that you select both

New folder and Reset file numbering. Each sequence of

photos will be numbered from 0001 and stored in its own

folder, which you may find helpful when copying the im-

ages to a computer.
