Working   W ith   P resets:  
 
The   D MC-­‐3XL   G en2   /   D MC-­‐4   G en2   v 2.0   f irmware   a dds   t he   P reset   M ode,   w hich   a llows   t he   u ser   t o   s et   a nd   r ecall  
up   t o   2 4   p resets   t hat   c hange   a ll   c onnected   d evices   t o   a   n ew   p reset   a t   t he   s ame   t ime.     T hese   p resets   m ay   b e   u sed  
to   s implify   t one   c hanges   i n   a   l ive   s etting,   s o   y ou   c an   h ave   s ounds   f or   e very   s ong   i n   y our   s et   o r   w orship   s ervice.  
 
To   l oad   a   p reset,   s imply   t ap   t he   l eft   o r   r ight   b uttons   i n   t he   P reset   M ode   ( labeled   P   o n   t he   D MC   d isplay.)     T he  
display   w ill   c hange   t o   r eflect   t he   c urrent   p reset   a nd   t he   n ew   s ounds   w ill   l oad   i f   t he   D MC   i s   e ngaged.     T apping   t he  
right   o r   l eft   b uttons   w hile   t he   D MC   i s   e ngaged   w ill   l oad   e ach   p reset   i n   t urn.  
 
To   e ngage   o r   b ypass   a   p reset,   p ress   a nd   h old   t he   r ight   b utton   f or   h alf   a   s econd.     T he   b lue   a nd   g reen   L EDs   w ill  
light   t o   s how   t hat   t he   p reset   i s   e ngaged.  
 
To   n avigate   t o   a   n ew   p reset   w ithout   l oading   t he   s ounds   i n   b etween   t he   s tart   a nd   d estination,   h old   t he   l eft   b utton  
to   e nter   S earch   M ode.     T he   d isplay   w ill   b egin   f lashing;   t ap   t he   l eft   o r   r ight   b uttons   t o   s elect   t he   n ew   p reset.    
When   t he   d esired   p reset   i s   r eached,   p ress   a nd   h old   t he   l eft   b utton   a gain   t o   l oad   t he   n ew   p reset   a nd   e xit   S earch  
Mode.  
 
To   e dit   o r   s ave   a   p reset,   e nter   s crolling   m ode   a nd   s elect   t he   s ounds   y ou   w ould   l ike   t o   s ave.     T he   D MC   w ill  
remember   i f   t he   i ndividual   d evices   a re   b ypassed   o r   e ngaged,   s o   m ake   s ure   t hey   a re   i n   t he   d esired   s tate   b efore  
saving.     O nce   t he   s ounds   a re   s elected   o n   a ll   y our   d evices,   r eturn   t o   p reset   m ode.     P ress   a nd   h old   t he   m ode   b utton  
to   e nter   t he   s ave   d ialog   –   t he   d isplay   w ill   b egin   f lashing   w ith   t he   c urrent   p reset   n umber.     T ap   t he   l eft   o r   r ight  
buttons   t o   s elect   t he   d estination   p reset,   a nd   t hen   h old   t he   m ode   b utton   t o   s ave.     I f   y ou   w ould   l ike   t o   e xit   s ave  
mode   w ithout   s aving,   t ap   t he   m ode   b utton   i nstead.  
 
 
 
 
 
Looping   w ith   t he   D MC:  
 
The   D MC   h as   s everal   l ooper   c ontrol   m odes   d esigned   t o   s implify   u sing   t he   l oop   r ecorder   f unctions   o f   t he  
Strymon   T imeline,   E ventide   H 9   /   T imefactor,   o r   t he   L ine   6   M 9.     T he   D MC   w ill   u se   t he   l ooper   o n   t he   h ighest  
numbered   l oop-­‐capable   d evice.     E xample:     I f   d evice   A   i s   s et   u p   a s   a   T imeline   a nd   d evice   B   i s   a n   M 9,   t he   D MC   w ill  
use   t he   M 9   f or   l ooping.  
 
The   l ooper   s etup   a llows   t he   u ser   t o   s elect   o nly   t he   l ooper   m odes   t hat   a re   d esired.     L ooper   m ode   L 1   h as   b asic  
looper   t ransport   c ontrols   –   o verdub   /   r ecord,   p lay   /   s top,   u ndo   /   r edo.     M ode   L 2   h as   c ontrols   f or   l ooper   r everse  
and   h alf-­‐speed.     M ode   L 3   h as   c ontrols   f or   l ooper   v olume   u p   /   d own   a nd   p re   /   p ost.  
 
The   l ooper   s etup   a lso   a llows   t he   p layer   t o   s et   t he   b ehavior   o f   t he   l ooper   P lay   b utton.     L STP   m eans   t hat   p ressing  
the   P lay   b utton   w hile   a   l oop   i s   p laying   s ends   t he   S top   c ommand.     L PLY   m eans   t hat   p ressing   t he   P lay   b utton  
while   p laying   a   l oop   r estarts   t he   l oop.     T o   s top,   h old   t he   P lay   b utton.  
 
When   l ooping   i n   L PLY,   t he   r ecommended   p rocedure   f or   s tarting   t he   l oop   i s   t o   r ecord   u sing   o nly   t he   R ecord  
button.     P ress   R ecord   t o   s tart   r ecording,   t hen   p ress   R ecord   a gain   t o   s et   t he   l oop   l ength   a nd   b egin   o verdubbing.    
If   P lay   i s   u sed   t o   s et   t he   l oop   l ength,   a   s mall   d elay   w ill   b e   i ntroduced   i nto   t he   l oop.     L ooping   w ith   o nly   t he   R ecord  
button,   o r   w hen   t he   D MC   i s   s et   t o   L STP   w ill   n ot   h ave   t his   d elay.  
 
M9   u sers   w ill   n eed   t o   a djust   s ome   s ettings   i n   o rder   t o   u se   t he   L 3   m ode   f or   s etting   l ooper   l evel.     E nter   t he   s ystem  
menu,   t hen   p roceed   t o   t he   T empo   /   E xp   P edals   p age.     S et   L PR   t o   P DL2,   a nd   m ake   s ure   P DL2   i s   n ot   s elected   f or  
FX1-­‐FX3.     N ext,   m ove   t o   t he   L ooper:   L evels   a nd   E Q   p age.     U se   t he   r ight   b utton   o n   t he   D MC   t o   r aise   t he   l ooper  
volume   t o   1 27.     A djust   t he   P LAY   l evel   o n   t he   M 9   t o   m aximum.     N ext,   u se   t he   l eft   b utton   o n   t he   D MC   t o   l ower   t he  
looper   v olume   t o   0 ,   a nd   t hen   a djust   t he   P LAY   l evel   o n   t he   M 9   t o   m inimum.     T he   D MC   s hould   n ow   b e   a ble   t o  
control   t he   l ooper   l evel   o n   t he   M 9.  
 
The   L 3   m ode   a nd   l ooper   l evel   c ontrols   a re   n ot   a ctive   i f   t he   H 9   /   T imefactor   i s   u sed.
