Cubetape is a handheld mobile data collection device to simplify and improve the collection of Item

and dimensional data. It includes a replaceable tape cassette, electronics, optional display and

scanner, communications (Bluetooth, Infrared and USB), rechargeable battery, and five function

keys, BRAKE/ENTER, SCAN/ENTER, SAVE, SEND, and BACK/POWER. Cubetape turns on with the

POWER button, and turns off when the POWER button is held down for a couple of seconds.

Cubetape can handle most scanning and measurement tasks and can be configured for different

data collection tasks:

Example 1: measure dimensions of a single item and transfer to a host system:



Measure item length using the tape, and record with the ENTER key



Measure width and record with the ENTER key



Measure height and record with the ENTER key



Transfer the record to the host system with the SEND key

Example 2: scan barcodes and measure dimensions of multiple items and transfer to a host system:



Scan item 1 barcode with the SCAN key



Measure item 1 length using the tape, and record with the ENTER key



Measure item 1 width and record with the ENTER key



Measure item 1 height and record with the ENTER key



Repeat process with the ENTER key or transfer all records to the host system with the SEND

key.
