INSTRUCTIONS PERTAINING TO A
RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK,
OR INJURY TO PERSONS
Read thoroughly prior to installation and operation.

WARNING: To guard against injury, basic safety precautions should be
observed, including the following.

Failure to do so may result in damage to this appliance.

To avoid possible electric shock, special care should be taken since
water is employed in the use of this product. For each of the following
situations, do not attempt repairs yourself; return the pump to an
authorized service facility for service if it is still under warranty or dis-
card the pump. Power unit must be supplied by a circuit protected by
a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) protected by a hooded, flush
type, cover plate receptacle, marked for use in Wet Locations.
A. If the appliance shows any sign of abnormal current leakage or if a
GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) or RCD (Residual Current Device)
switches off, disconnect the power supply cord from mains (main
power supply).
B. If the pump shows any sign of abnormal water leakage, disconnect the
power supply cord and remove pump from water.
C. Do not operate any appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug, or if it is
malfunctioning or if it is dropped or damaged in any manner. The power
cord of this appliance cannot be replaced; if the cord is damaged, the
appliance should be discarded. Never cut the cord.
D. The electrical outlet should always be above the level of the appliance.
If the plug or outlet does get wet, DON'T unplug the electrical cord.
Disconnect the fuse or circuit breaker that supplies power to the
appliance, then unplug and examine for presence of water in the outlet.
E. Carefully examine the appliance after installation. It should not be
plugged in if there is water on parts not intended to be wet

or more from a pool, spa, or fountain.
4. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children)
with significantly impaired physical or mental capabilities, unless they
have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the
appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should
always be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the
appliance.

5. To avoid injury, do not contact moving or hot parts.
CAUTION

Always unplug or disconnect this appliance from the electrical
supply before placing hands in water, before putting on or taking off
parts and while the equipment is being installed, maintained or han-
dled. Never yank the cord to pull the plug from outlet. Grasp the plug
and pull to disconnect. Always unplug an appliance from the electrical
supply when not in use. Never lift the appliance by the cord.

THIS IS A PET DRINKING FOUNTAIN PUMP.
This pump has been evaluated for use with fresh water only.
Do not use this pump for other than its intended use (i.e.: do not
use in swimming pools, etc.). The use of attachments not recom-
mended or sold by the appliance manufacturer may cause an
unsafe condition.
• This pump is suitable for use with water temperatures up to 35°C (95ºF).
• Do not use the pump in swimming pools or other situations where people
are immersed.
• Do not use this pump with inflammable or drinkable liquids.
8. Do not install or store the appliance where it will be exposed to
temperatures below freezing. Store indoors. Shelter appliance from
direct sunlight. The plastic materials have high stability to sunlight but
direct rays may speed aging.
9. Ensure that the appliance is placed on a flat, even surface. Monitor
the appliance regularly. Do not leave appliance unattended for
extended periods. Do not allow the pump to run dry. The pump must
be immersed in water completely. This pump must never operate
outside of water.

This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the
other) to reduce the risk of electric shock; the plug is intended
to fit into a polarized receptacle on in one way. If the plug cannot be
fully inserted into the receptacle, reverse the plug. If it still does not
fit, contact a qualified electrician in order to have a proper polarized
receptacle installed. Do not attempt to modify the plug or receptacle
in any way.
11. If an extension cord is necessary, ensure the connection is
Watertight and dust proof. A cord with a proper rating should be used.
A cord rated for less amperes or watts than the appliance rating may
overheat. Care should be taken to arrange the cord so that it will not
be tripped over or pulled. The connection should be carried out by a
qualified electrical installer.

12. IMPORTANT – Supply through a GFCI or RCD with rated residual
current not exceeding 30 mA.
