AC Series ESD Direct Plug In Screwdrivers
Operation Manual
Overview
Thank you for choosing an ASG product. We know you had a choice of electric
screwdrivers and we are pleased you chose ASG. Please read these instructions and
make sure your operators understand how to operate this product properly. Should
your tool need to be returned for service in or out of warranty, please contact us at:
[email protected] or 888-486-6163
Operating Instructions
CAUTION! Never operate the tool with a damaged or frayed cord. Never operate the
tool with a cracked or broken housing. Never operate the tool with wet hands or in an
area of high humidity or dust. Follow any local, state or national standards for proper
operation of an electrical power tool. Only qualified service personnel should attempt
repairs on these tools due to the presence of 110 VAC inside the tool housing.
Guidelines
Before operating this tool, please attach a tool balancer. For your convenience each
AC tool is supplied with a suspension spring that can be used as a balancer. Tools
which have been dropped will not be repaired under warranty. ASG also offers a tool
"holster" which can be attached to the edge of the bench or workstation to prevent
the tool from falling to the floor, or contact ASG for tool balancers, positioners and tool
support systems.
How To Set Torque
The AC series tools have a TORQUE SCALE on the torque adjusting bolt. (See chart at
right). This scale is only a reference. A tool set to 5 on the scale would not mean that
the torque was set at 5 inch pounds. Look at the graph to the right. The numbers 1-10
along the bottom represent the numbers found on the torque scale of the tool. The
numbers 2-48 along the left side represent approximate torque in lbf.in, thus if you
have an AC-1130 and you set the torque nut to the equivalent of #6 on the scale then
the approximate torque output will be about 16 lbf.in. For precise torque adjustments
contact ASG for information on torque meters. The torque you are able to achieve may
vary depending on the joint type and actual voltage available.

The AC series tools are "TRIGGER PERMIT"
style tools. They are PUSH TO START tools
that can also have the option of a LEVER
START. There is a small switch at the top of
the lever marked PL/P (See drawing on page
2) With the switch set to the P position the
tool is operated strictly as a PUSH TO START
tool. With the switch in the PL position the
LEVER must be pressed in addition to the
PUSH TO START action to start the tool.
