You can change the position of the sliders.
Putting the sliders as close together as
possible, gives you a wider range of move
ment for your instrument. You can also move
the sliders as far apart as possible (a). This
creates more stability. (Recommended during
exhausting rehearsals and for students who
start to learn the instrument.) Everything in
between depends on what feels comfortable
to you and your needs. It is highly recom
mended that you have the assistance of
another person to help you adjust the position
of the cushions to your body. A mirror is also
useful for this.
