Static calibration by the HMG 05

1. Preparation of the measurement

The HMG 05 has to be kept at a temperature of 15 °C to 25 °C.

Now turn on your HMG 05. (If the screens shows "Bat" you have to put in new

batteries.) After one minute the screen should show "000.0". If it doesn't do so you

have to adjust the HMG 05 by the little wheel on the right side until "000.0" can be

seen. Now you can start measuring.

2. Measure control at blood pressure measuring instrument

The measure control of a blood pressure measuring instrument has to be parallel to

the HMG 05. The blood pressure instrument and the HMG 05 have to be horizontal.

Test the instruments to make sure they are similar for at least 10 seconds before

beginning to compare and documenting the results.

If you have a blood pressure measuring instrument with a cuff we suggest to put it

around a 10 cm to 12 cm cylinder in order to be able to use as a comparable volume.

If you have a wrist blood pressure measuring instrument you should use a suitable

volume (see producer information).

The measuring of automatic blood pressure measuring instrument has to be done in

the calibration modus. Following the producer's suggestion, set the statistical

pressures for the comparison.

Damages that are caused by not following the instructions are not covered by the

warranty.

The pressure measuring instrument HMG 05 was especially developed for

measuremental controls of static pressures. (The PTB-Leitfaden is on the non-invasive

blood pressure measuring instruments)

If the HMG 05 is used for measuremental controls on blood pressure measuring

instrument (see MPG, Betreiberverordnung), it is a measuremental normal and has to

be tested yearly. This test can be done by the PTB, the Office of Measurements and

Weights or the DKD.

The HMG 05 can only be used as a checking device if the seal is not damaged.

The HMG 05 works with a very precise pressure sensor. This sensor is not usable for

liquids. Because of that you have to pay attention that it is not exposed to greater

changes of temperature. For example the HMG 05 mustn't be left in the car during

cooler temperatures, because condensation could build up within the instrument.

If your HMG 05 is not in use for a long period of time, you should remove the

batteries because they might lose liquid and destroy the device.
