- The use and maintenance of this device requires knowledge of and compliance with national
laws and regulations as well as the rules governing the use of respiratory protective devices in
the country of use.
- Use of this device requires user training and compliance with these instructions for use.
- Use the device only for the applications described in this manual or for those applications
authorised in writing by D.P.I..
- The device must be checked and repaired at regular intervals only by trained and qualified
personnel.
- Inform DPI if you detect any malfunctions in the device components. Use only original DPI spare
parts for servicing and repair.
Note: EEBD Sekur Navy Cap 10 and Sekur Navy Cap 15 are designed only for escape from a
hazardous atmosphere.
Note: EEBD Sekur Navy Cap 10 and Sekur Navy Cap 15 are not designed for firefighting, are not
designed to enter oxygen deficient environments or tanks or for use by firefighters.
Liability statement
The responsibility for correct operation of the device is transferred to its owner or user when
servicing or repair is performed by untrained personnel (not authorised by DPI), or when it is
used in a manner not in accordance with its intended use.
2. CERTIFICATION
SEKUR NAVY CAP is a continuous flow compressed air respiratory protective device; it complies with EN
1146: 2005 - Respiratory protective devices - Self-contained open-circuit compressed air breathing
apparatus with escape hood ISO 23269-1. (Constant flow escape breathing apparatus with hood) and
meets the requirements of the European Community Directive 89/686 / EEC (DPI) and Directive 2014/90
/ EU.
The connection for refilling the cylinder complies with EN 144-2 compressed air cylinder valves - Maximum
charge pressure 200 bar. It should also be noted that the SNC Exhaust Equipment complies with Directive
2014/68/EU and therefore the cylinders must undergo a periodic overhaul with a 10-year overhaul interval
in accordance with (Annex B of Ministerial Decree 329/04).
The equipment is CE certified and consequently CE marked and has the EC Type Certification issued by
the notified body ITALCERT in accordance with the PPE Directive and in accordance with the MED Module
B Directive.
Production control in accordance with PPE Directive 89/686/EC art. 11 B is carried out by the notified body
ITALCERT, Viale Sarca 336 Milan (Italy), notified body no. 0426. The same body carries out the
surveillance of production in accordance with module D of Directive 2014/90/EU (MED).
Italcert carries out production monitoring in accordance with Module D of the Directive 20.
The Italian version of the manual has been verified by the verifying body. Other translations into other
languages acceptable in the countries where this product is intended to be marketed are the
responsibility of DPI.
