SnapDragon – Owner's Manual
Issue 1,8

User Controls

The standard Dragonmobility Driver Control Box (DCB) has a joystick, 5 push buttons and
two indicator lights (see Fig:5).
The square white push button is the on/off switch.
When turned on, the power indicator light shows
green. The round white button changes the top speed
setting from low to high and vice-versa. These speed
limit settings will have been decided at the time of the
assessment, and preset before delivery. When
changed to high speed, the indicator light will turn
orange, then back to green when turned back to low
speed, or when the SnapDragon is turned off and on
again. Whenever the SnapDragon is turned on, it will
always turn on with its low speed limit in operation,
and the green light will show.
The second indicator is a battery warning light which
begins to blink red as power is used when the battery
is only 20% full. The flashing becomes more
persistent as the battery drains further, and when
there is virtually no capacity left, the light will be on
whenever the motors are running. At this point the battery must be charged soon. The
SnapDragon should NOT be used if the light is on permanently whenever the DCB is
switched on. If the batteries are seriously flat, a buzzer in the main servo unit will sound.
This is intended as a deterrent to use. The SnapDragon should not be used until the
batteries are re-charged (see section on Battery Care).
The elevator push buttons are green for down and yellow for up. As an aide-memoir the
green takes you down to the grass and the yellow takes you up to the sun.
