INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

ACURA RSX 2002 -

Hardware Kit

6 – Plastic Expansion Plugs

6 – # 10 x ½" Pan Head Screws

2 – 3M Anti-abrasion Film Pad

2 – Black "C" Clips

2 – # 6 x 3/8" Black Screws

2 – # 4 x 3/16" Black Screws

Installation

Be sure that the hood is clean and dry inside and out. Open the hood of the vehicle.

Remove and discard the hood seal clips from the center hood seal only by using the side cutters.

Center the protector on the hood then insert the expansion plugs into the existing holes in the hood seal, through the holes in the

protector and into the hood. See Illustration #1. Be sure that all the components are well seated into the hood. Tighten the #10 x 1/2"

screws into the expansion plugs. Do not over tighten.

Attach the anti-abrasion film pads to the hood in line with the holes in the leading edge of the protector. Fold the pads in half over the

hood edge to cover at least ½" of the underside of the hood. See Illustration #2.

Slide the "C" clips on the hood in line with the holes in the protector. Be sure that the "C" clips are well seated against the hood; it may be

necessary to tap on the clips. See Illustration #2.

Be sure that the hole in the top of the clips lines up with the hole in the protector, then tighten the #6 x 3/8" screws, through the protector

and into the top of the "C" clips. Do not over tighten. See Illustration #2.

Make sure all the clips are well seated against the hood. Tighten the setscrews in the back of the clips.

On some vehicles it may be necessary to adjust the hood bumpers and/or latch for proper clearance.

Note: Do not pull on the protector when opening or closing the hood.

Care Instructions

Clean the protector with a mild soap and water solution or plastic cleaner only. Do not use chemicals or solvents.

Periodically check to make sure the bumpons are in place and the protector is secure.

Avoid using automatic car washes. Do not pull on the protector when opening or closing the hood.
