accessories. Such preventive safety
measures reduce the risk of starting the
tool accidentally.
▶ Inserting and Releasing Battery
Pack
Set Forward/Reversing lever 3 to the
center (locked position). Slide charged
battery pack 11 into the housing until the
battery pack locks into position (Fig. 2).
Your tool is equipped with a secondary
locking latch to prevent the battery pack
from completely falling out of the handle,
should it become loose due to vibration.
To remove the battery pack, press the
battery pack release button 10 and slide
the battery pack 11 completely out of tool
housing (Fig. 3).

Accessories

The bit holder accepts only standard 1/4"
hexagonal shank accessories with power
groove.
Your GDR18V-1800C tool is equipped with
a quick release bit holder. To insert a bit,
simply pull locking sleeve 2 forward, insert
desired bit into bit holder 1 and release
locking sleeve (Fig. 4). To remove an
accessory, pull locking sleeve 2 forward
and remove it from the bit holder.

Your GDX18V-1800C tool is equipped with
a Socket-Ready™ quick release 1/2" square
drive 17. The Socket-Ready™ drive includes
a 1/4" hex bit holder 18 designed for
impact-ready accessories. Attach only high
quality accessories with the proper size
square drive designed for use with impact
drivers.
To install a socket 22, insert the square
output drive into the square end of the
socket. To remove, pull off output drive
(Fig. 5).
Assembly
Disconnect battery pack
from tool before making

To insert a bit, pull locking sleeve 16
forward, insert desired bit into bit holder
18 and release locking sleeve. To remove
an accessory, pull locking sleeve 16
forward and remove it from the bit holder
(Fig. 5).
